Follow these steps to clean the reusable air inlet filter (Figure 4-1):
1. Open the filter door and remove the filter. Inspect for damage or
debris.
2. Wash the filter using one of these solutions, then rinse thoroughly:
®
Palmolive
or Dawn
White distilled vinegar (5% acidicy)
Isopropyl alcohol (99.9%)
Hydrogen peroxide (3%)
®
Clorox Ultra
Sodium hypochloride (6%)
3. Allow the filter to dry completely before reinstalling.

WARNING:
Failure to replace a dirty filter may cause the device to operate at higher than
normal temperatures and damage the device.
CAUTION:
Use only Respironics-approved filters.
CAUTION:
The gray reusable air inlet filter must be completely dry before use. Never
place a wet filter into the device.
The ventilator is designed to accommodate 1 reusable (gray) filter and 1
disposable (white) filter at one time. The disposable filter is optional but
recommended for ultra-fine particulate filtration.
CAUTION:
Replace the reusable air inlet filter every year or if damage is visible.
Install only 1 reusable filter.
CAUTION:
Replace the disposable air inlet filter if debris or damage is visible. Do not
attempt to clean or reuse.
