Upgrading the Management Module System

There are two pieces of software held on the management module - the
management module agent software and the Ethernet Smart module
software.
You must download the Smart Module software immediately
afterwards to gain control of the Smart Modules.
When 3Com issues a new version of the management module system
you can obtain it on disk through your supplier and download it to the
management module from a remote Network Manager. The protocol
used for downloading is TFTP running over TCP/IP or IPX and will only
work inband, not via the RS232 interface. Set up a network-linked
remote TFTP server with the file in the open directory. Toggle to the
download type you wish to perform. Enter the filename and server IP
or IPX address on the Software Upgrade screen. Click on the OK button.

You may wish to download the file from another directory. If so, you
must give the full path to the file and the filename, with a maximum of
30 characters.
