Managing over the Network

Using Telnet
Any Telnet facility should be able to manage the MSH hub over the
network. Make sure you specify that Telnet should emulate a VT100
terminal. Check the manual supplied with the Telnet facility if you are
unsure how to do this.
Five users may use Telnet into the VT100 interface concurrently.
If the RS232 port on the MSH Display Panel is being used, only four
concurrent Telnet users are permitted.
Before you can access the management interface using Telnet, you
need to set the IP address for the MSH Management Module using a
local terminal or BootP server.
To open the Telnet session you must specify the IP address of the MSH
Management Module. Once the connection is established, you will see
the main banner of the VT100 interface displayed and you may log on.
From then on you will appear to be using a VT100 terminal as the
Telnet session is transparent. Management using the VT100 forms is
