    NSTALLATION The NETBuilder II FDDILink Module is an extended-format module that occupies two slots in the NETBuilder II 4-Slot or 8-Slot chassis and one slot in the 8-Slot Extended chassis. The module comes in single-mode, multimode, and mixed- (single- and multi-) mode versions.

    1: I HAPTER NSTALLATION CAUTION: Only remove the filler panels from the slots that will house the FDDILink module. All unused slots require filler panels to maintain proper cooling of the unit and regulatory compliance. Failure to cover open slots can cause the NETBuilder II bridge/router to overheat, which will void the warranty.

Troubleshooting Table 3-1 describes common malfunctions that can occur with the module, possible causes, and actions to take. If you are unable to resolve a problem, contact your network supplier.
