Ring Statistics
This enables you to gather and display soft-error statistics. Soft-errors
indicate intermittent faults which temporarily disrupt normal operation
of the network. Soft errors may be caused for example by token ring
adapters entering and leaving the ring, or receive buffer overflows.
Figure 10-4 Ring Statistics Menu
Soft Errors - The value consists of the total number of isolating soft
errors (soft errors which are traceable to a station) that were
collected and reported by all the stations on the ring since the last
soft error report was made.
Frequent soft errors may result in degraded ring performance. If you
notice a significant increase in soft errors reported, you may need to
reconfigure the ring to bypass the faulty node using a Network
Manager such as Transcend Network Manager.
