A. Appendix
A.1 INIT Mode
Each tM module has a built-in EEPROM to store
configuration information such as module address, type
code, Baud Rate, etc. Occasionally, the configuration of a
module may be forgotten and there are no visual
indications of the configuration of the module. It is
difficult to communicate with the module when the
configuration of the module is unknown. To help avoid
this problem, the tM series has a special mode called
"INIT mode". When the module is powered on in "INIT
mode" the configuration of the module is reset as follows,
allowing it to be operated as normal.
1. Address: 00
2. Baud Rate: 9600 bps
3. No checksum
4. Protocol: DCON
The configuration information stored in the EEPROM is
not changed and can be read by sending the $002(CR)
command at 9600bps.
There are commands that require the module to be in INIT
mode. They are:
1. %AANNTTCCFF when changing Baud Rate and
checksum settings. See Section 2.1 for details.
2. $AAPN, see Section 2.17 for details.
