3.5.4.1. Phase Evacuation (Stage 1 and Stage 2)

Press MORE button again to enter the last screen for setting a phase evacuation of a building in case of a fire alarm
situation. In general, the phase evacuation is a prealarming operation mode. Using phase evacuation, the building is
separated into zone groups, which are in direct danger of fire and must be evacuated immediately (Stage 1 – Partial
evacuation) and zone groups not in direct danger, which are alerted but must wait for evacuation from the building
(Stage 2 – Full evacuation).
The main purpose of phase evacuation is to organise the evacuation of people in a building, as first to give priority to
people in direct danger of fire. In that way is avoiding the blocking of escaping routes by too many people trying to leave
the building in the same time.
Fields description and available settings in PHASE EVACUATION submenu:
Evacuation Delay
Stage 1 (Partial) [min]
Evacuation Delay
Stage 2 (Full) [min]
* The evacuation and alarm sound tones are set in SOUNDERS MODE main screen – item 3.5.4.
Example diagram for phase evacuation operation algorithm.
Evacuation Delay Time for Stage 1 is set to 5 minutes; Evacuation Delay Time for Stage 2 is set to 10 minutes.
Normal Operation
The zones in the
building are attached to
10 Zone Groups.
Set a time interval from 1 to 10 minutes for partial evacuation just of the zone groups in
direct danger of fire (see the example below), including the top floor and the basement of
the building. In the zone groups in fire, the sounders are activated with evacuation sound
tone*. In the rest zone groups of the building, the sounders are activated with alarm sound
tone*.
The Stage 1 evacuation delay time starts running after finishing the set delays T1 and T2 in
the system. If Stage 1 time is set to "0", then after finishing of set delays T1 and T2, starts
running Stage 2 evacuation delay time.
Set a time interval from 1 to 10 minutes for full evacuation of the whole building. The Stage
2 evacuation delay time starts running after ending the Stage 1 evacuation delay time. All
sounders in the system are activated with evacuation sound tone*. After ending the set time
for Stage 2 the sounders will continue to sound with evacuation type tone until resetting the
panel.
If both Stage 1 and Stage 2 evacuation delay times are set to "0" then after finishing the T1
and T2 delays, all sounders are activated directly with alarm sound tone* without starting
phase evacuation for the zone groups in fire.

In iRIS8, the phase evacuation is organised into two
stages:
- Stage 1 (Partial) for evacuation of people in direct
danger in the building.
- Stage 2 (Full) for evacuation of the rest of the building
after finishing the Stage 1 evacuation procedure.
Note: The evacuation time Stage 1 starts running after
ending set delay times T1 and T2 in the system
configuration.
Evacuation Stage 1
Evacuation sound signal
starts running for 5
minutes for Zone Groups
7 (Zone 10 in fire alarm),
6, 8, 10 (top floor) and 1
(basement).
In all other Zone Groups
is activated alarm sound
signal.

Evacuation Stage 2
After ending the Stage 1,
starts Stage 2, as
evacuation sound signal
starts running for 10
minutes for all Zone
Groups in the building.
After ending the Stage 2,
the sounders will continue
with evacuation type tone
until resetting the panel.
