At second screen for SOUNDERS MODE are set parameters for "Evacuation Settings". The settings into this screen are
obligatory when Voice Evacuation Panels (PASO) are connected to iRIS8 panel via RS484 interface connection. The
settings are concerning the operation of the sounders on the site in case of fire alarm situation.

Alert/EVAC Voice Cycle
ATTENTION: The ALERT/EVAC. VOICE CYCLE function is active only when the ON and OFF times are set
different from 0. If one or both times are set to 0 the function is inactive.
For example: The operation mode is set to SOUND/STROBE and the EVACUATION CYCLE TIMES are set ON: 30
sec. and OFF: 40 sec. When Evacuation is in process on the protected site the operation of the system according the
EVACUATION SETTINGS will be the following: The sounders will sound (Evacuation tone) and flash for 30 seconds
and then will only flash for 40 seconds. The cycle will repeat until resetting of the system or pressing the Silence Alarm
button.
Using the active button, the installer sets the operation mode of all sounders in fire alarm
situation. This setting is global and concerns all sounders in the fire alarm system. The
options are changed with every pressing of the button:
INDIVIDUAL - This option is set by default. Every sounder (WSST and BSST type) will
operate with its currently set alarm Mode (individual settings in menu DEVICES - LOOP).
STROBE LAMP - All sounders are activated with LED indication only, where it is applicable.
The sounder outputs on the panel PCB are not activated.
SOUND - All sounders are activated with sound indication only. The sounder outputs on the
panel PCB are activated also.
SOUND/STROBE - All sounders are activated with sound and LED indication. The sounder
outputs on the panel PCB are activated also.
Using the active button, the installer sets the operation mode of all sounders during
evacuation of the site. This setting is global and concerns all sounders in the fire alarm
system. The options are changed with every pressing of the button: STROBE LAMP,
SOUND and SOUND/STROBE. The operation is same described above for the alarm
settings.
Using the arrow buttons, the installer sets the cycle for sounding of the sounders in
Alert/Evacuation mode in seconds. Alert cycle is acting in the same way as Evacuation
cycle but during alarm. This means that the voice evacuation PASO panels can be triggered
with alarm message also.
The function requires setting of two special times defining time intervals for sounders
operation as follows:
ON - Set this time interval from 1 to 600 seconds. During Alert/Evacuation mode the
sounders will operate with the Alarm/Evacuation setting described above – for example
when SOUND/STROBE option is set the sounders will sound and flashing at the same time
(for the models available).
OFF - Set this time interval from 1 to 600 seconds. During Alert/Evacuation mode the
sounders will operate only in FLASH mode (for the models available).
POLARITY (the button under the ON and OFF times) - Select NORMAL or INVERTED
operation of the ON/OFF times. Choose which of them will start first in the evacuation cycle.
