To access the manuals for the mass spectrometer, from the Microsoft™ Windows™ taskbar,
choose Start > All Programs > Thermo Instruments > Manuals >
your specific model, and then click the PDF file you want to view.
Note For Thermo Xcalibur™ version 2.0.7 or earlier (Microsoft Windows XP operating
system), choose Start > All Programs > Xcalibur > Manuals > LTQ >
The software also provides Help. To access the Help, choose Help from the menu bar.
Note With Revision C of this manual, component designations Q0, Q00, and Q1 are
now multipole MP0, MP00, and MP1. However, Tune Plus Help might still use the Q0,
Q00, and Q1 component designations for some topics.
Ion trap higher energy collision-induced dissociation (Trap-HCD) fragmentation is an
optional feature for the Velos Pro mass spectrometer. If you purchased this option, you must
obtain a new license from Thermo Fisher Scientific and install it in your system before you
can use this feature.
Note The Velos Pro mass spectrometer includes a 90-day trial version of the Trap-HCD
license. If you did not purchase this license, a reminder dialog box will appear notifying
you that the trial period is close to expiring.
