Duplex Specifications

2. Duplex systems cannot be created using the CS1W-CLK12 or CS1W-
CLK52. Use the CS1W-CLK12-V1 or CS1W-CLK52-V1.
3. The CS1W-CLK12-V1 and CS1W-CLK52-V1 are completely compatible
upgrades of the CS1W-CLK12 and CS1W-CLK52. They can be used with
CS-series (CS1-H, CS1) PLCs in the same way.
Specifications relating to duplex functionality are given below. For other speci-
fications, refer to 1-2 Specifications and Configurations.

Note 1. Although standby Controller Link Units do not participate in the network as
nodes, they are physically connected to the network and so they are in-
cluded in the figure for the maximum number of connectable Units. For this
reason, up to a total of 62 active and standby Controller Link Units can be
connected. Therefore, if all the nodes are used in the CS1D System, with
all the Controller Link Units used in duplex operation, the maximum num-
ber of nodes is 31 (62 − Number of standby Controller Link Units).
In 1 network, a total of up to 62 active and standby
Controller Link Units can be connected (31 nodes).
It is also possible to use only some of the Units in the Controller Link Net-
work in duplex operation. In this case, up to a total of 62 active and standby
Controller Link Units and Controller Link Units that are not used in duplex
operation can be connected. The Units that are not used in duplex opera-
tion can include both existing Units (CS1W-CLK12, CS1W-CLK52, CVM1-
CLK12, or CVM1-CLK52) and duplex-compatible Units.

Duplex Units can be mounted in any slots on the
same CS1D PLC. When using a connecting
cable (CS1D-CN051) between Duplex Units,
however, the cable length is 50 cm and so mount
in adjacent slots.
