Procedure for Using Duplex Units
After transferring the PLC Setup settings, reset the CS1D's power supply.
For details on the operation method, refer to 8-3-2 Duplex Settings in the
PLC Setup.
Note a) If the duplex settings in the PLC Setup are not performed, it will
not be possible to create I/O tables.
b) Connect the CX-Programmer to the active CPU Unit when trans-
ferring the PLC Setup settings to the CS1D. The settings cannot
be transferred to the CPU Unit if the CX-Programmer is connected
to the standby CPU Unit. (Only reading is possible.)
4. Set the transmission path format to token-ring mode using the software
switches in the CPU Unit's DM parameter area. (Set bits 8 or 9 to 1.)

5. Reset the CS1D's power supply. (A Unit/Rack Number Duplication Error
will occur.)
6. Create I/O tables and set the operating mode for each of the Duplex Con-
troller Link Units. The Unit mounted in the slot with the lower slot number
(i.e. further away from the CPU Unit) will be in active mode. (The operating
mode can be changed later.)
If the I/O tables are created correctly, the status of the LED indicators for
each of the Units will be as shown in the following table.
