TROUBLESHOOTING CHECKLIST

If the 2E43-51 is not working properly, refer to
of possible problems, causes, and recommended actions to resolve the
problem.
Problem
All LEDs are OFF.
No Local
Management
Password screen.
Cannot contact the
2E43-51 from
in-band
management.
Port(s) goes into
standby for no
apparent reason.
User parameters (IP
address, Device and
Module name, etc.)
were lost when the
2E43-51 power was
cycled or the front
panel RESET button
was pressed.

Loss of power.
Installed improperly.
Autobaud is enabled.
Terminal setup is not
correct.
Improper console cable
used.
Using incorrect
Community Name.
The 2E43-51 does not
have an IP address
assigned.
Port is disabled.
No link to device.
The 2E43-51 detected a
loop condition.
Mode switch (7), NVRAM
Reset, was changed
sometime before either
cycling power or
pressing the RESET
button causing the
user-entered parameters
to reset to factory default
settings.
