As you insert the synchronizer gear
assembly (complete with shifter fork)
into the casing, several gears
must mesh together.
Large idler
gear and
synchronizer
gear mesh.

The edges of the input
drive gear and large
intermediate gear
should be flush.
The outside edges of the idler, intermediate,
and differential bearings are on the same plane.
The synchronizer bearing protrudes slightly.
