1.9 Hydraulic Gear Pump Systems
The Top Select is offered with a gear type hydraulic pump. This type of system requires
the engine to run at 1500 RPM for the Maximizer operation, if applicable. The other
functions require the engine to run at idle. The main pressure setting is 2000 psi.
Two types of pump clutches are used: "hot shift" and "Pitts clutch". The "hot shift" type is
connected to a PTO on the transmission, whereas the "Pitts clutch" is directly mounted
on the engine. They both provide automatic clutching at any time.
