General Maintenance

If the Rhapsody H-30 Holmium Laser System is used carefully in normal operational conditions,
the anticipated service life of the device is 10 years and the supplier recommends an overall
system check every 6 months. Intense use, a dusty or dirty operational environment, or frequent
movement necessitates more frequent maintenance. Verify the alignment and calibration using
the instructions in chapter 4.
An authorized service provider is defined as: a Cook service representative, a third party
representative contracted by and representing Cook, or a staff biomedical technician who has
received laser technical training and received a certificate of such training by Cook.

warranty.

! Performing any procedures, operating any controls, or making any adjust-
ments other than those specified herein may result in hazardous
radiation exposure.

Cleaning

Prior to cleaning the laser system, protect the fiber connection port with the fiber applicator
shutter closed. Unplug and power off the laser system prior to cleaning.
Do not use alcohol or an alcohol solution to clean the display.
Exterior enclosures may be wiped down with alcohol or another nonabrasive cleaner. Use a cloth
that has been sprayed with a cleaning or disinfecting agent. Avoid spraying the disinfectant
directly onto the laser system, particularly directly onto the touch screen. Do not let water
enter the laser system or leak into the fiber connection port. Solutions used for cleaning and
disinfecting should be allowed to evaporate before the laser system is used.

Cooling Water Level

Refill the water tank if the water level is too low.
Inspect the water level using the water level indicator on the rear panel. If the red float is not at
the top of the indicator, refill the water tank with distilled water as specified in chapter 4, page
1-24.

Power Cord

The Rhapsody H-30 Holmium Laser System has a 15 foot (5 m) power cord mechanically affixed to
it.
The power cord may deteriorate over time because of general use and environmental conditions.
Periodically check the status of the power cord and contact your designated Customer Relations
department if a problem exists.
