Filling the Cooling System with Water

1. Remove the external and internal right side panels (as you face the Rhapsody H-30 Holmium
Laser System). This will expose the water reservoir and DI cartridge to view.
NOTE
: 3 mm and 5 mm Allen wrenches will be needed to disassemble the side panels.
2. Insert the air purge tube into the air purge (top) port on the back of the laser system.
3. Insert the fill bottle into the water fill port on the back of the laser system.
NOTE
: Use distilled water only.
4. Begin filling. Fill until water reaches the top of the reservoir.
5. Disconnect the fill bottle and remove the small tube (blue or red) with the connector from the
top of the fill bottle.
6. Insert the tube from step 5 into the water drain port. Water will begin to drain. The water flow
will be interrupted with burps of air. When the water flows continuously again, remove the
drain tube. This will easily take place before the reservoir empties.
NOTE
: The laser system has built-in safety circuitry to detect when there is too little water
flow. If this circuitry engages while it fills with water, the information bar will display "Low
coolant flow. " Simply turn the laser system off and back on to continue.
7. Replace the tube back into the fill bottle and re-insert the fill bottle into the water fill port.
8. Continue filling until the reservoir is again full, and then stop.
9. Remove the tube again as you did in step 5.
10. Have the fill/drain tube ready near the drain port.
11. Insert the fill/drain tube into the air purge port and watch the reservoir. Turn the laser system
on. When you hear the water pump turn on, and the water level suddenly drops, the pump is
primed.
12. Quickly turn off the key switch.
13. Refill the reservoir to the top.
14. Turn the key switch on and watch the reservoir level drop before turning the key switch off.
Do not let the water level drop below one-third or suck air into the bottom.
15. Repeat steps 13-14 until the reservoir remains full and the system runs continuously.
NOTE
: You may have to do this several times before the process is complete. The system
should take about one and one-fourth liters of water when full.
16. Remove the fill bottle and air purge tube. Replace the external and internal side panels.
