Checking the cephalometric beam alignment

Enter the service mode (see section "How to enter/exit the service mode" on page B-6). The radi-
ation beam can now be checked without the sensor head moving.
Press the CTL-key.
Press and hold down the primary slot key until the number on the primary slot display starts to
flash. You are now in the primary slot calibration mode.
Press the collimator selection key twice to skip passed the two panoramic collimator slots. The
letter "C" will appear on the display. This selection is used to check the position of the left side of
the radiation.
Place the beam alignment tool to the sensor alignment tool to horizontal position (see figure
below).

Select kilovolt and milliampere values high enough to enable the radiation beam to be seen in a
darkened room for example 80kV and 12mA.
Stand behind the tube head and protect yourself from radiation. Press and hold down the expo-
sure button. The image of the radiation beam will appear on the beam alignment tool.
