Compressor (D zone)
1
ON switch enables compressor in signal path.
When disabled (switch extinguished), compressor is
bypassed. (comp and gate switches can both be
enabled at any one time.)
2
To aid set up, compressor has a side chain listen
that sends the side chain onto solo bus. This side
chain listen indicator illuminates to warn you that
soloed material is from side chain and not main
channel.
3
Quick access button selects all of the compressor
controls to the GUI input channel strip for near instant
access.
4
threshold control knob sets the signal level
above which gain reduction starts to be applied.
5
Compressor/Gate select buttons allow you to flip
between the compressor and limiter controls in the
GUI detail area.
6
Compressor make up gain control knob is used to
compensate for the reduced loudness of a compressed
signal.
7
Compressor KNEE switch controls how
compressor starts to apply gain as signal goes through
the threshold; see "Compressor graph" on page 50.
Options are Hard Knee, where compressor
immediately applies gain reduction at selected ratio
once attack time has elapsed, and Medium Knee and
Soft Knee, where compressor (starting from slightly
before threshold) gradually makes the transition to
applying gain reduction at selected ratio.
