Chapter 4: Input Bays
There are three identical input bays - two on the left- and one on the right-hand side of
the control centre - numbered 1, 2 and 3, as shown above. Each input bay has a
control surface with GUI screen above.
The control surface has the following main areas (see "Input bay control surface" on
page 35):
• Input fast zone: contains eight input fast strips, which provide the 'must have now'
controls, such as compressor, gate, mix and fader sections.
• Input channel strip: includes D and E zones to provide a more comprehensive
control of the inputs, with the controls configured in a logical signal path sequence.
The channel strip is used to make detailed adjustments to a single channel's audio
parameters. It is supported by visual feedback from the channel GUI. Channels are
selected to the input bay GUI via input channel select buttons. Rotary controls on
the channel panel are touch-sensitive so that the channel screen can track which
controls are being touched. These are highlighted to help the user with navigation
and to confirm which control is about to be adjusted. When a control that is out of
the current channel screen view is touched, the GUI screen changes to the view
dedicated to the new area the operator is accessing.
• Input navigation zone: screen navigation and function selection via glide pad, and
select input channels to screen via the input select section.
