Input channel gain and filter
1
gain trim control knob applies continuous trim
adjustment, in small digital steps, of the input signal
level (input amplifier gain) from –20dB to +20dB. The
appropriate swept filters are selected in or out of the
signal path by high
and low
switches.
2
phase switch applies a 180° inversion of the
input signal polarity within the input amplifier, such
that channel signal will have opposite polarity to the
input signal. Commonly used where two mics are
facing each other, for example, when using a mic on
both the top and bottom of a snare drum. Ordinarily,
the two mics would be out of phase - causing
cancellation when the console sums the two signals
into the output. Reversing the phase of one signal
causes the mics to have the same phase, thus
avoiding cancellation
3
TALK switch connects talk mic and generator
circuits to the mix bus. This is a mixing only function.
4
CHECK (meter) switch monitors the mic amp
input after 30Hz filter but before any further
processing.
5
LINK switches pair adjacent channels for stereo
operation by linking compressor side chains. Linkages
are editable but default to those in Table 7 "Linking -
input channels" on page 210.
