Time out events as reflected in the status structure

Bit 3 of the Status Byte Register (read with *STB or Serial-Poll) is assigned to the
Remote Communications Time-Out Event. The bit will be set when such an event occurs
and if the corresponding bit of the Service Request Enable Register is set then the event
will cause an SRQ to be generated.
The status bit is cleared when the TORST command is issued.
