Re-install the I/O module in the 8800 series switch following the instructions in
7.

Remove a PoE Card XCM88P

To remove a PoE card:
Attach the ESD-preventive wrist strap to your bare wrist. If the metal end is not already

connected, connect it to the ground receptacle at the top left corner of the chassis.
Remove the I/O module from the 8800 series chassis as described in

Loosen the spring-loaded captive retaining screws on the PoE card until they pop up.

If the retaining screws are too tight to loosen by hand, use a 3/8-inch flat-blade
screwdriver.
At each end of the card, grasp the top and bottom edges and carefully lift the card to

disengage the connectors.
Place the PoE card on an ESD-preventive work surface or into anti-static packaging.

If you are replacing the PoE card, install the replacement card as described in

Daughter Card XCM88P
Re-install the I/O module as described in
7.
Install an Option Card XCM888F in the Supervisory
Module
The Supervisory module has a slot for the XCM88F option card, which adds eight 1-gigabit SFP
data ports to the Supervisory module.
You need the following tools and equipment to install an option card:
ESD-preventive wrist strap
#2 Phillips screwdriver
#1 Phillips screwdriver
3/8-inch straight-tip screwdriver
CAUTION:
The XCM888F option card is not hot-pluggable. You must administratively
disable the module and remove it from the switch before you install the
option card
