Brake Pedal Switch

The brake pedal switch is mounted on the frame under
the floorboard (Fig. 23). The brake pedal switch pre-
vents the cruise control coil from being energized when
the brake pedal is applied.
Testing
1. Make sure ignition switch is off. Locate switch and
unplug wire harness connector from switch.
2. When the switch plunger is pressed (brake pedal re-
leased), there should be continuity between the switch
terminals. When the switch plunger is extended (brake
pedal depressed), there should not be continuity be-
tween the switch terminals.
3. Replace switch if necessary.
4. Connect the wire harness connector to the switch af-
ter testing is complete.
