QUICK COUPLER SYSTEM

Press and hold the button (2) on the left joystick to activate
the quick coupler.

Depending on the design of the quick coupler, it may be
necessary to actuate one of the hydraulic functions (buck-
et, boom, arm or swing) of the machine in order to in-
crease the pressure in the hydraulic system.
The quick coupler will now release the attachment/bucket.
TO PICK UP A NEW BUCKET OR ATTACHMENT
• European safety standards require that is possible to check the locked position of the quick coupler
from the operator's position. Failure to check could cause the death of exposed persons. Check
carefully that all the locking of the quick coupler is complete and secure. Follow the manufacturer's
instructions carefully, including the installation of any safety device, if required.
• Check daily that the hoses and fittings in the quick coupler piping system are in good condition.
Pay particular attention to the hoses and fittings at the arm end as these can be damaged easily. In
case of damage or leakage of oil stop work. Loss of oil could lead to the bucket or attachment fall-
ing and killing an exposed person. The damage or leakage must be repaired before continuing
work.
• This machine has a warning release system in case of problems with maintaining the pressure in
the quick coupling system. If the hydraulic coupling and level "L03" warning lights are displayed on
the monitor, stop the machine immediately and contact your Komatsu distributor for an inspection.

(a) :quick coupler ready for activation (bucket/attachment re-
lease)
(b) . quick coupler deactivated (bucket/attachment lock)
The switch has a safety lock mechanism to prevent accidental
operation. Slide the lock towards you then rock the switch. The
lamp on the switch lights.
NOTICE
Operation will only take place if button (2) is also pressed.
