MAINTENANCE
It is dangerous if the work equipment moves by mistake when the tooth is being replaced.
Set the work equipment in a stable condition, stop the engine and set the lock lever securely to
LOCK position.
As the pin is driven out with strong force, it is dangerous that the pin may fly out. Check that there
is no person in the surrounding area.
Broken pieces may fly during the replacement work. Always wear the personal protective items
such as protective eyeglasses and gloves.
Items to be prepared

1.
To remove the tooth pin (1), place the lower surface of the
bucket on a block, make sure the working tools are in a
stable position. Place the bucket in such a way that its bot-
tom surface is horizontal.
2.
Check that the work equipment is in a stable condition,
then set the lock lever to LOCK position (L).
3.
Place a bar on the pin (1) head and hit it with a hammer to
extract the pin.
After the pin (1) is expelled, remove the tooth (2) and the
ring (3).
If it is impossible to remove the teeth using this procedure,
for safety reasons, it is advisable to have the tooth re-
moved by a Komatsu Distributor.
Use a rounded bar of slightly less diameter than that of the
pin to be extracted.

Clean the mounting surfaces and insert the ring (3) in the
slot of the tooth holder (4).
