FUNCTIONING
(1) Ignition switch
This is a four-position rotary switch and is used to switch the
engine on and off.
Position OFF (A)
When the switch is in this position, the ignition key can be
inserted and removed. When the key is turned to this position,
the power supply to the electric circuit is interrupted and the
engine stops.
Position ON (B)
The load and light circuits are under voltage. Keep the key in
this position when the engine is on.
Position START (C)
This is the ignition position. Keep the key in this position to
make the starter run. As soon as the engine starts, release the
key, which will automatically return to position ON.
Position HEAT (preheating) (D)
When starting the engine in cold climates, turn the key to this
position. When the key is in position HEAT, the preheating
warning light comes on. Keep the key in this position until the
preheating warning light starts blinking. Release the key, which
will automatically return to position OFF. Start the engine by
rotating the key to position START.
NOTICE
The engine cannot be started if the safety lever isn't in
LOCK position (L).
(2) Hand accelerator
The hand accelerator (2) is used to control the engine speed
and output.
(a) Idling: the knob is rotated completely to the left
(anticlockwise).
(b) Maximum: the knob is rotated completely to the right
(clockwise).
REMARK
On this machine, the engine is electronically controlled to give
the optimum matching with the main pump. There is a
deadzone in which control input has no effect. This is not a
fault.
Field (c): No effect (constant engine speed)
P mode: 22%
E Mode: 30%
Position (d): High idle
