8. During installation, apply some oil on the sealing surface
and bring it in contact with filter cartridge sealing surface
(4).
9. Tighten the transparent sump (3) by 1/4 - 1/2 of a turn.
REMARK
q Do not tighten the transparent cap in an excessive way to
avoid damaging the O-ring, as this might cause fuel
leakage.
q Do not tighten the transparent cap in an insufficient way as
this might cause fuel leakage.
q Always carry out a safe tightening, in compliance with the
given tightening angle.
10. Clean the filter-holder (6), fill the new filter cartridge (4) with
clean fuel, apply a thin layer of engine oil on the sealing
surface and install the filter (4) on the filter-holder (6).
NOTICE
q When fuel is added, do not remove the cap (B). Always
add fuel through the 8 holes (A) from the side where
impurities are held.
q Remove the cap (B) and install the fuel filter.
q Always refill with clean fuel. Make sure that no dust or
dirt contamination occurs in the fuel. The central part
corresponds to the flow-out side of the filtered fuel,
therefore, the cap (B) should not be removed when
topping up the fuel. Prevent any dust or dirt from
entering the central part of the cartridge .
11. During installation, tighten until the sealing surface is
brought in contact with the filter-holder (6) surface, then
further tighten by 3/4 of a turn.
REMARK
q Do not tighten the cartridge in an excessive way to avoid
damaging the sealing gasket (7), as this might cause fuel
leakage.
q Do not tighten the cartridge in an insufficient way as this
might cause fuel leakage.
q Use the filter wrench with great care in order not to notch or
damage the filter.
