LANDING

lf
landing lights are
to be
used
to
enhance
the visibility of
the
airplane in
the traffic
pattern
or
enroute,
it is
recommended
that
only
thé taxi light be
used.
This will
extend
the service life of the
landing
light appreciably.
TAKEOFF
POWER
CHECK
smoothly
and
turn approximately 2350 -
24OO
RPM
.
Prior
to
takeoff from fields which require maximum
performance,
the
mixture
should be
leaned
to the fuel
flow
values provided
on the
Maximum Power Fuel Flow placard
in a
full throttle,
static
runup.
Atter
full
throttle
is
applied, adjust
the
t
k
clockwise
to
prevent
the
throttle
from
cree
a
maximum power position. Similar friction
lock
d
be made as
required
in
other flight
conditions
d
throttle setting.
WING
FLAP
SETTINGS
Normal takeoffs
are
accomplished
with wing flaps
0'
to
20'.
Using
20'wing
flaps
reduces
the
ground roll and
total distance
over
an
obstacle
by
approximately
20
percent. Flap deflections
greater
than
20'
are not approved for takeoff.
