ABSENCE
OF
WHICH
WILL
RESULT
IN
UNRELIABLE
HEADING INFORMATION.
Normal procedures
for
operation
of this
system differ little
from
those
required
for the
more
conventional
Course
Deviation
lndicators.
However, several small differences are worth noting.
The
rectilinear movement
of
the
course deviation
bar
in
combination with
the
rotation
of the
compass card
in
response
to
heading changes, provídes
an
intuitive picture
of
the
navigatíon
situation
at a
glance when
tuned to an omni station.
When
tuned
to
a
localizer
frequency, the course select pointer must be set
to
the
inbound front course for both front and back-course approaches
to
retain
th
is pictorial
presentã'ÌÏõ-n.
