Vehicle equipment

These Operating Instructions describe all
standard and optional equipment available
for your vehicle at the time it was pur-
chased. Please note that your vehicle may
not be equipped with all features descri-
bed.
General notes
Conditions for using COMAND Online
and Internet access
COMAND Online and Internet access are only
available for telephony via the Bluetooth
interface, not for convenience telephony.
In order to use the functions, the following
conditions are necessary:
the mobile phone supports the DUN Blue-
R
®
tooth
profile (Dial-Up Networking) and is
connected to COMAND via the Blue-
®
tooth
interface (
®
Bluetooth
profile enables the mobile
phone to establish a dial-up connection to
the Internet.
you need a valid mobile service contract
R
with a data option, which is used to calcu-
late the associated connection costs.
the access data of the connected mobile
R
phone must be set in COMAND

You can obtain more detailed information
about suitable mobile phones from your
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre or on the
Internet (http://www.mercedes-
benz.com/connect).

If you use incorrect access data, addi-
tional costs may be incurred. This happens
when you use details that are different from
the contract or details from another con-
tract/data package.

Connection difficulties while the vehi-
cle is in motion
The connection may be lost if:
there is insufficient GSM or UMTS network
R
coverage in certain areas.
you move from one GSM or UMTS trans-
R
mitter/receiver area (GSM/UMTS cell) into
another and no data channels are free.
you use a SIM card which is not compatible
R
with the network available.
you are using a mobile phone with "Twin-
R
card" and the mobile phone with the sec-
ond SIM card is already logged into the net-
work.
Function restrictions
You will not be able to use the mobile phone,
will no longer be able to use the mobile phone,
or you may have to wait before using it, in the
following situations:
when the mobile phone is switched off
R
when the "Bluetooth
R
off in COMAND
when the "Bluetooth
R
off on the mobile phone if you are using

Bluetooth
interface telephony
if the mobile phone is not logged into a
R
mobile phone network
if neither the mobile phone network nor the
R
mobile phone allow simultaneous use of a
phone and an Internet connection.
Roaming
When you are driving your vehicle in a differ-
ent country and using the COMAND Online
and Internet functions, you may incur addi-
tional costs (roaming fees). When you are in
a different country, your SIM card must be
enabled for data roaming. If your mobile
phone network provider does not have a data
roaming agreement with the roaming partner,
