Setting Up System Access

Use the System Readiness module to configure the basic settings that are
required to secure access, connect to the Internet, and localize the settings.

System Readiness Summary, page 54
Use the System Access page to update the administrator username and
password. Also enable remote management and remote upgrade, if needed.
Username and password changes take effect only when you apply the
configuration. Unapplied username and password changes are not saved when
you save a session.
Opening this page: From the navigation pane, choose System Readiness >
System Access.
Admin Username: Enter a user name for the system administrator to use to
log in to the configuration utility. The username must start with a letter. You
must replace the default username, cisco. Neither cisco nor admin is
allowed in any form.
Password: Enter a password for the system administrator. The password is
case sensitive. The administrator uses this login to access the Configuration
Utility. You must replace the default password, cisco. Neither cisco nor
