System Extensions
For each system feature, keep the default settings, or enter an extension number in
the box.
Extension numbers must be unique and must comply with the rules entered
on the Dialing > Dial Plan page. For more information, see
Internal Dialing, page
or duplicate extension number.

Auto Attendant: Enter an extension number that users can dial to reach the
Auto Attendant. To configure Auto Attendant settings, see
Auto Attendant, page 97

Voicemail Pilot: Enter an extension number that users can dial to reach the
Voicemail Pilot for access to the voicemail system. To enable user voicemail
boxes, see
Managing Users, page

Auto Attendant Prompt Recorder: Enter an extension number that users
can dial to reach the System Configuration tool to record prompts for the
Auto Attendant. For information about recording prompts, see
page
99.

External Page: If an external speaker system is connected to the Line Out
port, enter an extension number that users can dial to initiate an
announcement through the speaker. To configure other settings for external

Music: Enter an extension number that users can dial to hear the music that
is configured for music on hold and/or call park. To configure music settings,

Meaning of First Dialed Digit
Choose the function that you want to assign to each digit. After you make a
selection, the Dial Pattern field displays an example.
•
Dial Immediately: The digit can be used as a one-digit extension number
for a system feature such as Auto Attendant or Voicemail Pilot. To assign a
digit to a system feature, see

Extensions: The digit is used as the first digit of an internal extension
number. For example, if you assign this function to the digit 2, and your
extension length is 3, you will be able to configure extensions such as 200,
201, 202, and so on.
