11.2 Upgrading from the Teldat router

If the Teldat-3Ge-USB is connected in Teldat mode, the firmware upgrading for said 3G module can be carried out
from the Teldat router it is connected to.
Upgrading is carried out from the router console, specifically from the monitoring menu. Depending whether you are
dealing with a module made by Sierra Wireless or one by Siemens (nowadays Cinterion), upgrading is executed from
a different rcellular interface in the following way:
(1) Siemens: from the monitoring rcellular interface corresponding to the Teldat-3Ge-USB.
(2) Sierra Wireless: from the upgrade rcellular interface corresponding to the Teldat-3Ge-USB.
Note
3G modules manufactured by Siemens (nowadays Cinterion) can only be upgraded from the router the
Teldat-3Ge-USB is connected to in Teldat mode.

11.2.1 Procedure

The procedure to download the 3G module firmware from the Teldat router is as follows:
(1) Obtain the upgraded software.
(2) Transfer the software to the device through FTP.
(3) Load the firmware in the 3G module in the Teldat-3Ge-USB.
