2 Configuring in Teldat mode

2.2 WAN Reroute Backup Facility

An entry must be added to the router's WAN Reroute Backup facility (see manual Dm727-I Backup WAN Reroute )
to prevent the router from routing backup traffic when the connection between the router and the Teldat-3Ge-USB
drops.
The configuration steps are as follows:
(1) Access the feature configuration menu:
feature wrr-backup-wan
; -- WAN Reroute Backup user configuration --
(2) Enable said feature:
enable
(3) Associate the router's Ethernet interface to the one connected to the Teldat-3Ge-USB and the PPP interface:
pair 1 primary interface ethernet0/0 secondary interface ppp1
(4) Configure a reverse backup, i.e. if the main interface drops, the secondary one also drops and, if the main inter-
face returns, the secondary does as well.
pair 1 inverse-wrr
So the following configuration needs to be added:
feature wrr-backup-wan
; -- WAN Reroute Backup user configuration --
pair 1 primary interface ethernet0/0 secondary interface ppp1 pair 1 inverse-wrr
;
enable
exit

2.3 PPP Base Interface

As mentioned, the PPP base interface becomes the rcellular2 (as shown in the PPP configuration). You can see that
not only has the interface name changed in the network ppp1 Base Interface Configuration menu, but it has also
changed in the global profile.

2.4 DHCP

The Teldat corporate router is the DHCP server for the Teldat-3Ge-USB and the Teldat-3Ge-USB is configured
through said protocol. As there may be other DHCP servers in the corporate Ethernet, make sure the Teldat-
3Ge-USB always selects the corporate router as DHCP server. Additionly, the router should only accept requests
from the Teldat-3Ge-USB and (not from any other devices connected to the same Ethernet). The DHCP configura-
tion is as follows:
subnet teldatsubnet 0 network 172.24.0.0 255.255.0.0
subnet teldatsubnet 0 bootfile fwethant.img
subnet teldatsubnet 0 next-server 172.24.78.29
subnet teldatsubnet 0 router 172.24.78.29
;
enable
;
host eth-ant 0 client-id asc teldat
host eth-ant 0 fixed-ip 172.24.78.28
host eth-ant 0 option 43 asc antenna
Option 43 specifies the option the Teldat-3Ge-USB device waits to receive from the router to accept the address
offered (antenna in ASCII). Client-id command provides the client-id the router (teldat in ASCII) waits to receive
from the Teldat-3Ge-USB, to offer an IP address.
All necessary configuration parameters for the Teldat-3Ge-USB device can be sent through option 43.
(1) The sentence syntax sent consists of parameters separated by the ' &' sign.
