3 Configuring in Generic mode
Chapter 3 Configuring in Generic mode
This mode allows you to connect either a Teldat or Cisco router, or a router from a different manufacturer, to a 3G
network through the Teldat-3Ge-USB. Here we describe how to configure the router in these cases.
3.1 Configuring a Cisco router with PPPoE
Connecting a Cisco router to a WWAN mobile network through the Teldat-3Ge-USB with PPPoE is performed
through a dialer interface
Note
We recommend using version IOS 12.4.3 or above with Cisco devices. From this version onwards, op-
erations can be guaranteed with the Teldat-3Ge-USB.
We recommend using PPPoE rather than L2TP to connect a Cisco router to a Teldat-3Ge-USB.
The Cisco router establishes PPP communications with the WWAN network over a PPPoE session through the
dialer interface
