Finally, save the file and execute the connection from Start -> Configuration -> Network connections –> Teldat-
3Ge-L2TP.
The connection will ask you for the mobile network carrier user and password data.
12.5 Scenarios with VLAN
This new possibility allows the Teldat-3Ge-USB to operate within an environment with VLAN. Create an Ethernet
subinterface, which pertains to a determined VLAN, to the Teldat-3Ge-USB. Said subinterface can be used for data
connection with L2TP (in PPPoE, the routers that behave as clients don't support VLAN).
To create the subinterface, use the vlanid, vlanip and vlanmask parameters in DHCP option 43 (please see
chapter 2.4). Through said parameters, you tell the Teldat-3Ge-USB to create an Ethernet subinterface that pertains
to the VLAN (determined through the vlanid parameter), and with the IP address and subnet mask specified by the
vlanip and vlanmask parameters respectively.
This example deals with a Cisco router configured with L2TP. The configuration commands for the VLAN are written
in bold. Basically these are the parameters for DHCP option 43 (as already mentioned), the Fastethernet0/1.1 subin-
terface and within the Virtual-ppp1 interface configuration, we can see that the address used to open the L2TP ses-
sion pertains to the subinterface created in the Teldat-3Ge-USB.
