Ignition Coil Resistance Test
An ignition coil with good resistance
measurement can still be faulty. Voltage leak
can occur at high voltage level that is not
detectable with an ohmmeter. Replacing the
ignition coil may be necessary as a test.
Disconnect ignition cables from spark plugs.
Inspection on Ignition Coil
Disengage the connector of the ignition coil
and the spark plug cap.
Measure the resistance between the terminals of
the primary winding.
Front Cylinder
Rear Cylinder
Standard resistance: 2.9Ω ± 10%
Remove the cap from the spark plug and
measure the resistance between the spark plug
and the primary winding.
Standard resistance:
With no cap: 15.0Ω ± 10%
With cap:
20.0±10%KΩ
