Relay Operation test (Radiator
Cooling Fan)
The easiest way to check the relay is to remove
it and bypass it using a jumper. If the
radiator-cooling fan is activated, replace the
relay. See illustration to find where to bypass
the relay.
Relay Continuity Test (Radiator
Cooling Fan)
1. Remove relay.
2. Use the MULTIMETER and select the Ω
position.
3. Probe relay as follows.

4. Connect battery as shown and probe relay
again as follows.

0.5Ω max. (continuity)
If relay failed any test, replace it.
RADIATOR COOLING FAN
Radiator Cooling Fan Operation
The ECU controls the radiator-cooling fan via
the input of the coolant temperature sensor
(CTS) and the manifold air pressure and
temperature sensor (MAP).
The radiator cooling fan should turn on when
coolant temperature reaches 98℃ and should
turn off when the coolant cools down at 95℃.
