Bulk Change Residential Institute Codes for Patients
This utility allows you to:
• transfer some or all of the patients from one RI code to another RI code, or
• remove the RI code from the patient record of some or all of the patients
currently associated with a particular RI code.
NOTE
If you answer N to any of the 'confirmation' questions when using this
utility, the system will return you to the previous prompt. You can also
manually return to the previous prompt at any time by entering ^ and
pressing Return.
Directions
1. Access the Additional Registration Utilities menu, display the menu page
showing the Bulk change Residential Institute codes for patients option
and enter the relevant option number.
2. Enter the RI code you are transferring from.
3. The field RI code to transfer to gives you the option of either amending or
removing the patients' current RI code.
• If you want to amend the RI code, enter the new code at this
• If you want to remove the RI code, press Return.
4. If you are removing the RI code, the system will display the field You want
to change all 'RI froms' to 'no RI code'. Use this field to confirm your
decision by entering Y or N as appropriate.
5. The system gives you the option of creating and sending amendment
transactions for all the patients' RI codes to the patients' GP practices.
If you want to do this, enter Y in the Capture changes to GP Practice(s)
field. If not, enter N.
6. You can specify whether the amendment or removal of the RI code is
applied to all patients, or just a subset. Either
• enter a number to apply the change to a specified number of
• enter all to apply the change to all the patients.
7. If you enter all, the system will ask you to confirm the action. Enter Y or N
as appropriate.
8. Finally, the system will ask for an email address which will receive a
summary notification when the job finishes processing. Enter a valid email
address.
