Registration Reference Manual
Registrations and Deductions Date Range Count
This utility allows you to request counts of the number of different types of
registrations and deductions which have taken place on your NHAIS system between
two dates of your choice. The data will be written to a file and emailed to the address
you specify when running the utility. Detailed patient data may also be included, in
which case the data will be downloaded to Unix rather than emailed.
Counts can be obtained for:
• the entire database;
• one or more specific PCTs; or
• one or more specific practices.
Directions
1. From the menu, selection the option Registrations and Deductions Date
Range Count.
2. Enter D to include detailed patient data or C for counts only.
3. If you choose option C for counts only:
• Enter your email address.
• Check your email address and enter Y to confirm you have entered
NOTE 
4. Specify whether you want obtain one or more counts:
• by PCT and the practices within them – enter T
• by practice – enter P
• for the whole database, including all the PCTs and the practices
If you enter T or P you can then enter practice or PCT codes.
5. Enter the start date in the format DD.MM.YY.
6. Enter the end date in the same format.
NOTE 
7. The system will generate the file. If a "counts only" request was made the
utility will send the file to the email address you entered above.

In determining whether a registration or a deduction is within
the required date range, the business date for registration or
deduction is used, and not the system date that the registration
or deduction was applied.
The process may take several minutes to run, so there may be
a short delay before you receive the email.
