Intra PCT Patient Movements Count to Email
This utility provides historic counts information regarding the number of patients
changing their practice within a PCT. This allows agencies to see the impact that the
opening of a new practice has had on all local neighbouring practices.
The utility outputs a matrix of all practices responsible to a particular PCT, giving
counts of:
• the number of patients who have moved from each practice, to each practice
within the last year;
• the total figures for the entire year; and
• figures for each of the 52 weeks of the last year.
Directions
1. From the menu, select the option Intra PCT Patient Movements Count
to Email.
2. Enter a known, valid PCT code.
3. Enter the email address which will receive the output file.
Email File Layout
The resultant data file from the utility is sent to the email address you specify as a
comma-delimited text file. See below for an example of how this file looks.

The spreadsheet is laid out as follows:
• The "gaining" practices are shown along the top of the spreadsheet.
• The "losing" practices are listed in Column B.
• A "T" in Column A shows that these are totals for the last year.
• The values W1 to W52 in Column A show weekly totals for each week of the

An example of the spreadsheet is shown on page D-26.
