Additional Registration Utilities

Patients with a London Z Address Code/Postcode Conflict

The utility identifies patients who have a London 'Z' address code where the out code

part of the address code does not match the out code of the patient's postcode.

The utility is intended for use:

• by those agencies who are keen to ensure that all patients having a particular

address code do have a postcode that corresponds to this address code; and

• on systems that use London 'Z' address codes to obtain matches with the PAF,

for example, where a patient with an address in the "SE1" area is given an

address code of "SE1Z" (locality is blank, post town is "LONDON" and the

county is blank) which matches to the PAF via a related address code "SE1"

(locality is blank, post town is "LONDON" and county is "SE1").

The utility will, for example, report upon a patient having an address code of "SE1Z"

whilst having a postcode of "SE9 1EP", but will not report a patient having an address

code of "SE1Z" whilst having a postcode of "SE1 1EP".

The utility is only available on London and home counties NHAIS systems,
