NOTE
Risk of damage due to unauthorised service. Repairs which have been carried out improperly or poorly
may result in unsafe operation of the power wheelchair. Troubleshooting may thus only be carried out
by authorised specialist dealers possessing solid knowledge of electronic controllers from Ottobock.
Ottobock assumes no liability for any damage which can be attributed to repairs which have been
carried out improperly or poorly.
INFORMATION
Experience has shown that problems with the wheelchair electrical system are frequently caused by
errors and defects in the
plug connections and cabling. These areas should therefore always be examined first.
INFORMATION
Should you encounter problems while troubleshooting or if you do not manage to completely eliminate
a problem by following the measures described here, please contact Ottobock.
Errors are either shown on the control panel display / LCD monitor (see section 7.2) or displayed
using the handheld programming device. The handheld programming device (see section 8.5) can
capture errors more precisely with the help of error codes. The separate enAble50 (647G490=D/
GB) instructions for use contain a table with error codes, causes and possible steps for resolution.

7.1 Diagnostic steps

For troubleshooting purposes, the control unit of the power wheelchair identifies the following
categories depending on the effect of the malfunction on the system:
U Error
U Warning
U Defect
A warning indicates a status or malfunction of one or several components of the power wheelchair.
All faults that have ever occurred are saved in a list and can be retrieved, e.g. in case of a gen-
eral overhaul of the power wheelchair. The saved data can be used to determine future service
and maintenance intervals, for example.
The following table shows the different error messages on the control panel display or separate
LCD monitor. On the LCD monitor, the error message also includes the identification number of
the error that has occurred (for more detailed information see the 647G490=D/GB enAble50
instructions for use):
