Firmware upgrade

New firmware must be loaded if extended functions are made available in a more
recent firmware version and these functions are to be used.
The firmware installed on the DRIVE-CLiQ components is stored in a non-volatile
memory. The component firmware must be upgraded when a new CompactFlash
card with a more recent firmware version is to be used.
Upgrading the firmware in STARTER
In the project navigator under "Configuration" for the associated drive unit, the firm-
ware version of all the components can be displayed on the "Version overview"
screen and the firmware upgraded accordingly online.
To do this, you need a functional project and a CompactFlash card with the new
firmware.
1. Save the project via "Save as" -> new project name, close the old project.
2. Right-click the drive unit -> Target system -> Device version ->
e.g. choose version "SINAMICS S120 V2.2x" and click "Change version".
3. Disconnect the Control Unit from the power supply,
insert the CF card with the new firmware version,
switch the Control Unit on again.
If necessary, the firmware can be upgraded in accordance with the version
stored on the CompactFlash card.
4. Go online and load the project to the target system.
5. The firmware and the project on the Control Unit has now been upgraded.
6. Once the project is loaded to the drive for the first time, the drive carries out
internal calculations. This requires the "Load to PG" directly after the first
download.
7. If a more recent component firmware version is installed on the CompactFlash
card, this version must be upgraded.
8. Under drive unit: click "Configuration" and then "Version overview".
9. Click "Firmware update", "Select all", and then "Start firmware update".
The drive automatically recognizes whether a more recent firmware version is
installed on the CF card and prevents the system from downloading an
unsupported version.
10.Start the "Load to PG" function.
11. Test the drive unit.
