4-2-2. VA Gain Adjustment

Notes:
• Use the reflective chart (reflection ratio: 89.9 %) in this
adjustment, if possible.
• If a pattern box is used, it should be well-maintained.
• Set the luminous intensity of the chart to 2000 lx.
• Never change the setting of the following trimmer
capacitors.
These capacitors are extremely difficult to adjust in the
field.
VA-163 board: 1CT200, 1CT300, 1CT400
Equipment : Waveform monitor
Object
: White window chart
Preparations:
Connect the waveform monitor to the TEST OUT connec-
tor.
WHITE BAL switch (on the side panel) → PRST
Adjustment procedures
Set the menu as follows.

: Paint

: Knee/W.Clip (P6)
ITEM
: Knee→OFF
1. Adjust the auto black balance.
AUTO W/B BAL switch (on the front panel) → BLK
2. Set the RGB/ENC switch (on the side panel) to RGB.
Set the R/G/B switch (on the side panel) to G.
3. Set the DISP switch (on the side panel) to MENU.
4. Confirm the output level of the TEST waveform.
Set the menu as follows and adjust the level by turning
the MENU SEL switch.

5. Set the menu as follows.

6. Set the RGB/ENC switch (on the side panel) to ENC.
7. Shoot the white window chart so that the chart is
aligned with the underscanned monitor frame.
8. Adjust the iris control of the lens to satisfy the white
level B.
Specifications: B = 100 ±2 IRE (for NTSC)
