4-2-8. Knee and White Clip Adjustment
Note:
Perform this adjustment on the customer's preferences, if
necessary.
Equipment : Waveform monitor
Test Point : TEST OUT connector
Preparations:
• Connect the waveform monitor to the TEST OUT connector.
• OUTPUT/DCC switch (on the side panel) → CAM/OFF
• RGB/ENC switch (on the side panel) → ENC
• WHITE BAL switch (on the side panel) → PRST
• GAIN switch (on the side panel) → M(9 dB)
Adjustment Procedures:
1. Confirm the black level is 3 IRE for NTSC and 21 mV
for PAL.
2. Set the DISP switch (on the side panel) to MENU
while holding down the MENU SEL switch (on the
front panel).
3. Set the menu as follows, and adjust the knee point
level by using the MENU SEL switch.

Specifications: A = 98 ±2 IRE (for NTSC)
A = 686 ±10 mV (for PAL)

4. Set the menu as follows, and adjust the knee slope
level by using the MENU SEL switch.

5. Set the GAIN switch (on the side panel) to H (18 dB).
6. Set the menu as follows, and adjust the white clip level
by using the MENU SEL switch.

C = 750 ±10 mV (for PAL)

Resetting after Adjustment:
• Set the menu as follows.

• GAIN switch (on the side panel) → L (0 dB).
Note:
The values used in the above adjustments are under the
conditions that the white clip level is set to 109 IRE (for
NTSC) or 763 mV (for PAL).
When the white clip level is set to other value than 109
IRE or 763 mV, use the following table to set the levels of
the knee point and knee slope.
