Automated External Defibrillator
WARNING!
Use only One-Step Pediatric electrodes to defibrillate patients under 8 years of age in
AED mode. Use of adult electrodes with pediatric patients can result in the delivery of
excessive energy doses.
This chapter describes the recommended method of operation in AED Mode. The R Series unit
is configured to operate in compliance with the American Heart Association and European
Resuscitation Council Guidelines for Adult Basic Life Support and Use of Automated External
Defibrillators.
