2. On the CIFS tab, click on the defined share you want to modify from the
CIFS Shared Paths list and click Modify share at the bottom of the CIFS
Shared Paths frame.
Note: Alternatively, select Modify share from the CIFS > Path Sharing menu.
The Modify share wizard is displayed.
3. From the Properties window, activate or deactivate the CIFS share by clicking
on the CIFS Share Enabled checkbox.
4. Change the CIFS share name by typing a new name in the Name: field.
5. Click on Host Access in the navigation pane to display the Host Access
window.
6. From the Host Access window, select one of the following options to modify
the initial setting:
v Allow all hosts grants all hosts access to the share
v Allow selected hosts grants access only to specified hosts that appear in the
Allowed hosts list.
7. To allow selected hosts, click Add from the Host Access window to display
the Add Host window.
8. Type the selected Host name or IP address in the Host field and click Add.
The host appears in the Allowed hosts list in the Host Access window.
To remove a host, select the host from the Allowed hosts list and click
Remove.
9. Click on Users in the navigation pane to display the User permissions.
10. Click on the Allow checkbox to activate or deactivate user access to the
shared path. Users which have been deactivated through the User's
Management cannot be associated with this share.
11. Assign the user permissions by selecting Write-enabled or Read only from the
Permissions dropdown list.
12. Click Submit to save your modifications to the CIFS share.

Removing a CIFS share from ProtecTIER

About this task
This topic describes how to remove a CIFS share.
Note: To remove a share, the share must not be in use or mapped to any host.
Procedure
Follow these steps to delete a CIFS share and remove the shared path:
1. From the Systems Management view, select an existing file system under the
File System category in the navigation pane.
2. On the CIFS tab, click on the defined share you want to delete from the CIFS
Shared Paths list.
3. Click Delete share at the bottom of the CIFS Shared Paths frame.
Note: Alternatively, select Delete share from the CIFS > Path Sharing menu.
A message is displayed that the share will be removed, but the path contents
will remain intact.
4. Click Yes to confirm deleting the share. The CIFS shared path is removed.
