ELECTRONIC CHART DISPLAY AND INFORMATION SYSTEM (ECDIS)
General
1.
This equipment is designed with up-date computer technology to comply the IMO/IHO
performance standards for Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). It
displays selected information from SENC* with positional information from navigation sensors to
assist the operator in route planning and route monitoring, and indicates additional
navigation-related information.
This ECDIS series is mainly comprised of
1) ECDIS Processor
2) Control Unit (type according to system configuration)
3) 19-inch, 21.1-inch or 23.1-inch Monitor (monitor is supplied locally in case of FEA-2107-BB)
4) LAN Adapter (serial signal interface), and
5) ECDIS B Adapter (analog signal interface, option)
One single ECDIS processor can be used for both route planning and route monitoring.
An additional identical ECDIS processor, which is used for route planning, can be separately
installed to fulfill backup arrangements for replacing of the paper charts. It will be connected to
the principal Processor with Local Area Network (LAN) of ETHERNET type.
