7.2.10 DISASSEMBLING THE FRONT WHEEL

BEARINGS

Carefully read 0.5.1 (PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL
INFORMATIONS).

Remove the front wheel, see 7.2.1 (REMOVING THE
FRONT WHEEL).

Use a cloth to clean both sides of the hub.
Work on the right side of the wheel:

Remove the speedometer/odometer control seal (1).
N
Remove the traction ring (2).
NOTE Have the appropriate special tool m to hand:
– aprilia part# 8140180 (Kit for bearings in the range
Ø10 mm to Ø 30 mm).

Use a special extractor to extract the right bearing (3).
N
Retrieve the inner spacer (4).
Work from the left-hand side of the wheel:
NOTE Have the appropriate special tool m to hand:
– aprilia part# 8140180 (Kit for bearings in the range
Ø10 mm to Ø 30 mm).

Use a special extractor to extract the left bearing (5).
N
Thoroughly clean the inside of the hub.
NOTE
Wash all the components with a clean deter-
gent.
